We can’t wait to share with you all the wonderful and fun things we have been exploring and learning about in seedlings this week. Well autumn has arrived and with it very changeable weather, but here in seedlings we love to take the opportunity to explore our environment and world around us regardless of the weather. Outdoors we have popped on our rain suits and wellies and had lots of fun splashing in puddles and in our water play duck pond and enjoyed our mud kitchen with fresh herbs and plants to explore. As part of our woodland animal theme we have been exploring the leaves and conkers that have fallen from the trees, our woodland camp complete with pretend log fire, and learning all about the animals that live in the woodland.
Our class story this term is ‘Pig in the Pond’, the children have been joining in key parts of the story by using their story boards and exploring the sensory props, they have especially enjoyed anticipating the water spray…”Splash!”
If you are out and about over the weekend keep a look out for the squirrels or other animals and if you get chance to take any pictures of them we would love you to email them to class and share them with your friends.
Next week we will be learning about creepy crawlies and mini beasts as part of the animal theme for this half term.
