We have had another fabulous week in Seedlings, learning lots about space whilst having lots of fun too. We have all still been enjoying our Literacy story about the bear who went to space, we especially love trying on the space helmet and dressing the bear in his space wellies and helmet too. We even get to have a wash in the baby’s bath with soap and a sponge as the bear gets very dirty after his adventure we like to give him a bath.

In R.E. we have been learning about love and our lovely families, the children loved seeing their family pictures during this lesson and talking about them with the rest of the class. The children really do enjoy seeing their own pictures and showing all their friends.

The home-corner has been really explored as our doctor’s surgery. There is a bed with our dolly patients where the children can look after them, care for them and if needed make them better. This has been lovely to see the children exploring and role playing either solely or with a friend as amazing doctors and nurses.

Outside we have had pebbles and balls in our water trays with glitter to represent the planets.  We had the big soft blocks for the children to access and we have made some great towers and structures. The children also love to role play in the house outside, we are often asked if we would like something to eat or drink in their café. Giant mark making was so much fun too, using the big rollers to make representations of space!

We have been getting messy gluing and sticking too creating some lovely artwork making rockets out of all different coloured shapes. In numeracy we have been working hard to recognise, explore and feel the edges of simple shapes, again we got very messy doing this as the shapes were hiding in messy play to get our hands used to different textures!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Love from all in Seedlings!
