This week we have been learning all about ‘Doctors and Nurses’ for our topic of ‘People Who Help Us.’ We have enjoyed using the role play corner to develop our imagination skills, looking after the poorly patients, using the writing frames to draw x-rays and using all the different doctors tools to help our friends feel better. In the reading corner we have been discussing what emotions we might feel when at the doctors, we tried showing the different faces to match our emotions and looked at the ‘People Who Help Us’ hand puppets.
At the creative station we have been making skeleton pictures and we have used ModRock to make our very own plaster casts to put on the dolls who have broken bones! Outside we have been exploring red water and plastic syringes, as though taking blood samples and giving injections to the dolls. We have also had an ambulance station outdoors with the little cars turned into ambulances and more doctors sets to help people who might be taken ill and need an ambulance.
Next week we will be looking at the topic of Police!
Have a great weekend!
