Hello everyone!
We have had a great first week back in school, ending with a bang…literally! This week we have begun to look at Governments and elections. We have been learning all about who the important leaders are in our country and Alex was amazed at how many of us knew who Boris Johnson was! We then learnt about elections, how elections work and even had our own election in class. We voted for our Elm Tree Class Prime Minister and they are responsible for handing out our AMAZING EMOJI’s and choosing their own cabinet of MP’s who will be responsible for jobs in class. We had an official poll counter who was in charge of making sure that everyone followed the rules, voted fairly and counted up the votes at the end. It was great fun and we will be doing this each week in class to cement our understanding of elections.

We have been looking at inspirational leaders this week as this will be our creative curriculum focus for the next half term. We have looked at some amazing influential musicians- Bob Marley was a class favourite!

Finally we couldn’t let Bonfire night pass us by, even if it has been a little different than usual. Our students made some yummy chocolate bonfire lollies that they decorated and ate and then made some lovely colourful bonfire pictures too!

Have a lovely weekend,

Stay safe & see you soon,

Lots of love,

Elm Tree Class
