Hello Maple Tree families!

We hope you had a great bank holiday. We have heard about some of the busy things you have all been up to.

This week we have continued reading Jack and the Flumflum Tree in Literacy and have even begun to compose our own version by choosing our own characters and problems in the story. We cut out and stuck them down in the right order and some of us even had a go at writing our own sentences. We have done some more good phonics work this week and have been learning more high frequency words which we have practiced reading and writing.

In Numeracy we have been practicing counting and have started working more on adding 1 more or taking away and making 1 less. We have enjoyed practical activities including searching for numbers and using animals, blocks and water to count. We have even bee practicing taking away 1 by using our favourite song about knickers!

Our afternoons this week have been spent learning about Science and how plants grow. We have planted different seeds, gone into the community searching for plants and flowers, recognised parts of flowers, learned about bees and their importance for flowers and painted flowers.

We have had another good week together learning lots. Have a great weekend.
