What a wonderful week it has been learning all about the weather and this weeks sub-topic of the snow! Our classroom has looked like a snowy wonderland and we have enjoyed making snowmen with sparkly dough, decorating and making our own snowflakes and exploring the arctic small world set. In our outdoor learning environment we have been building igloos, exploring cotton wool in the sand with sparkly pebbles and mark making in icing sugar. We have also wrapped up warm in woolly clothes and enjoyed reading stories whilst nice and cosy!
In Religious Education we are all working hard to engage and sit nicely for the ‘celebration’ topic and our special birthday sensory story. Our favourite part of the story is definitely blowing up and then letting the balloons go and watching them fly around the classroom. This week we used lemon scented dough to make our own birthday cupcakes with candles and sequins in!
We have welcomed more new Pear Tree children to our Seedlings class this week and are really proud at how well all our children are doing at settling in at school. We must also say a big well done to our new parents too, we know how scary it can be leaving your little ones for the first time!
We look forward to another week of weather themed learning and play based activities before we move on to the new topic of Halloween! The first half term is flying by!
Thanks for reading!
