Another great week in Seedlings learning all about the weather and Autumn. This week we have welcomed our mainstream Little Seedling friends who come to play with us for a few hours each day. They have all settled in really well and we have had so much fun playing with them! We are working on building up positive relationships whilst we help all our children to settle into their school routine.

In our continuous provision this week, the autumnal playdough with leaves and twigs has proved very popular, with children using their imagination to create lots of different things and enjoying listening to the crunchy sounds that the leaves made.  We all loved making our collage hedgehogs too using natural resources that we found outdoors.  The outdoor learning environment has been where most of our children have chosen to play this week with the weather being so glorious. We have made mud pies in our muddy kitchen and been singing ‘Incy Wincy Spider’ in the water play, whilst making the spiders wash down the drain pipes to represent the rain.

We are all really engaged and starting to sit lovely to listen to our Peppa Pig sensory story, where we explore lots of different types of weather! Of course just like Peppa Pig our favourite part of the story is jumping and splashing in the muddy puddles too!

Today and then next week our theme is rainbows and we have made the classroom lovely and colourful whilst we learn all about rainbows. Today we loved exploring the colourful water beads in the water play and trying to fill and empty containers with the beads.

We are looking forward to looking at your photos which is the homework task this weekend, to take a photo of your child out and about in the weather or enjoying something autumnal!

Have a wonderful weekend and a well-deserved rest!

Love Seedlings x
