We would like to start our blog this week just letting you all know how well the children have all adapted to there new classroom as the extension work is being carried out. The children have all took the move in there stride and we are so proud of them!. We still have access to our lovely playground so we have been making the most of the beautiful sunshine. The children have all particularly enjoyed climbing on a new wooden climbing frame that we had brought into the playground, this was so much fun and helped the children enhance there physical skills. Some of us also enjoyed a trip out to Morrisons this week to help get some shopping for snack time in class. The children were so good whilst out and about, that we had a quick play on the park too as a treat. The children really enjoyed this. Lots of fun was had again whilst enjoying the weather and exploring our community.

With the children’s environment being a little different we have still provided area’s of provision around the children’s interests for the them to access and explore. We have had the garage and cars in our small world area, a lovely strawberry playdough table with cutters and rollers for us to be creative, and a lovely arts and crafts area for the children to make a picture. We have also been able to use the sensory room for focused learning activities and the children have also enjoyed this. We have been continuing with the very much loved story of ‘the Gruffalo’ where the children can explore all the different props whilst singing along to the gruffalo song which is very catchy for our beautiful singers.

In Numeracy we have all been catching lots of fish as we learn about numbers and counting, our highest catch this week was ten we were so impressed. We also visited an ice cream shop during this lesson and the children all have a penny to buy there very own ice cream yummy. We also have number boards for the children to be able to point and identify the number in question which again our children are working so hard on and doing very well.

This week we are very sad to be saying good bye to our little seedlings who come to play with us all every week as part of our inclusion in class. They have been a lovely bunch of children and we will really miss them. We really feel that our children benefit so much from this session and it has been lovely to see how the little seedlings have really wanted to help our children learn and play. We have seen some lovely friendships being made. However before we say goodbye, we have a big party and graduation next Friday where we can all have lots of fun first, we are all very excited about this!!!.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Love from Seedlings
