We have had a lovely week in Seedlings again this week.  We were all very excited to welcome a snowy playground again this week, ready for lots of fun outside in our playground. The children enjoyed scooping the snow and ice into buckets and we even had a bit of a snowball fight!!! The water play area was filled with different coloured balls and glitter like the planets in space. Having our outside play allows the children to run off some physical energy and get some fresh air after lots of learning and is healthy for our bodies and brain development.

We also celebrated Chinese New Year with our class this week by having the hall set up with lots of exciting activities to explore by our PE teacher Paula. The children could dress up in Chinese clothes and explore some messy activities with rice. The children also enjoyed painting their Chinese symbol pictures with red and black paint. Chinese food was also on offer for lunch on this day. It was lovely for the children to try and explore these new foods such as noodles, chicken fried rice and spring rolls.

The children are all enjoying singing along to 5 shape saucers in our numeracy lesson, the children are all doing so well in recognising the different shapes and counting the sides. We also enhanced this further this week by introducing lots of different shaped food for snack time, the children all did so well again and this time got a tasty snack when they could identify the shape. Well done children and what a fun snack time!!

We are looking forward to next week’s adventure’s where I have heard we might have our own space ship tent to explore, wow!!!

We hope you all have a lovely weekend and look forward to seeing you all next week.

Love from Seedlings xxx
