It’s been a busy week in Oak Tree class with loads of hard work from everybody.

We’ve been writing information books about The Gunpowder Plot in Literacy and continuing our work using Colourful Semantics to describe pictures from the story Sparks in the Sky.
In numeracy, we have been using number lines to solve addition and subtraction sums and number bond sums to 10 and 20. Some pupils have been choosing what number song they would like to play by eye pointing to a symbol or reaching for an object of reference.
We have been learning about rockets in science this week by planning an experiment to see if water or vinegar would make a film canister rocket go highest when it exploded. we also used stamp rockets on the adventure playground and Chris was the only person to get a rocket on the roof, but seeing as how he is the science coordinator he can get away with it!
We’ve been doing lots of independence jobs in vocational education and independent living skills this week including learning how to go shopping at Morrison’s, cleaning the classroom, digging over the flower beds ready for the winter and making a bed in the Compass Centre.
