Welcome back to the second autumn half term and it’s going to be a fun 8 weeks in the run up to Christmas.

Our curriculum theme is “Celebrations” this half term and we have had our inspiration day today.  In Oak Tree Class we have been learning about Mawlid al-Nabi or the Prophet Mohammed’s birthday and how Muslims celebrate it.  We found that opinion is divided and some Muslims celebrate and some don’t.  We played musical instruments, designed our own prayer mats and made chickpea shami kebabs and a vegetable biriyani.

We have been learning about personal hygiene in Independent Living Skills and Vocational Education sessions this week.  We have been exploring objects linked to personal hygiene and keeping clean and we have been practising how to wash our hands properly.
