The children have all had a very busy fun filled week this week. We are so lucky we got to share Pancake day and World book day with our children. The children all enjoyed creating their very own pancake mix by taking turns pouring and mixing all the ingredients together well done children! Then of course we all had a taste of our yummy pancakes at snack time which the children all enjoyed.

In Literacy we tell the very much loved story, ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ with props alongside this for the children to explore. The caterpillar eats lots of different foods, so the children could choose if they also wanted to try some fruit or use their senses to smell.  The children also found it very funny being wrapped up in a cocoon before the caterpillar turns into a beautiful butterfly. We finish the story with a very beautiful butterfly song and have lots of coloured fabrics that we can fly with and pretend we are butterflies too!

The outside area was turned into a garden centre where the children could make up plant pots with soil, pick fruit and vegetables from the wheelbarrow to buy or just have a good old dig in the soil. The children often played together with this enhancing their social skills and enjoyed some sensory play whilst also being creative.

For World book day this year the children were all invited to wear pyjamas and share a favourite bedtime story. It was a very comfy day for all the children who all looked so cosy and snuggly in there PJ’S. In the afternoon the whole school were invited to the hall for a nice story also which some of our children also enjoyed.

In Music this week we have been practising using different instruments and listening to their sounds. We then got to dance and move our bodies to the music, the children all enjoy dancing and practice our gross motor skills. We then used the parachute with all different animals that we could all look for our animals whilst dancing to the song and listening to what animal would be next. The children work really hard to have good listening skills for this and enjoy this lesson whilst dancing and singing along, well done children.

What a busy week!!! We look forward to seeing you all next week and hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Love from Seedlings x
