What a fun filled week it has been in Seedlings with our exciting topic of Firefighters! We have all shown a keen interest in learning about how firefighters keep us safe through our exciting continuous provision.
Outside we have been using the water play with hose pipes, buckets and syringes to put out the fires. In the orange sand we have been identifying numbers on fire engines and trying to write our own numbers in the sand. We have also explored vehicle’s that might have caught fire and used shaving foam to put those fires out!
Indoors we have played with the small world Duplo fire station with the children enjoying constructing their own arrangements and showing great imaginative skills. At the creative station we used our hands and yellow and orange paint to make our own flame art work. We enjoyed singing a sensory firefighter song too, counting the firefighters as they put out the different fires and exploring the feel of water, shaving foam and orange fabric.
Jigsaws have been a big hit this week with our pupils learning how to fit pieces onto inset boards and showing a great ‘can do’ attitude to their learning!
Have a lovely weekend!
