This half term in Seedlings, our topic has been ‘Transport’.  Each week, as our continuous provision is updated, we have enjoyed several mini topics such as, cars and buses, trains and emergency vehicles. Some of our most popular activities have been washing cars at the car wash in our water play area, playing with our small world train set, and exploring our ‘garage’ role play area, using tools and dressing up as mechanics to fix the cars.

Our sensory story, ‘The Train Ride’ has been extremely popular. It is a beautiful story all about the things you may experience on a train ride. Our Seedlings have enjoyed tasting jam to represent the picnic, hiding under the dark fabric to replicate going through a tunnel and looking at our reflection in the mirror as you may see in the train window. We have enjoyed listening to the sounds of a train and joining in with the repetitive language in the story. I highly recommend it as a bedtime story!

Have a lovely half term everyone. Let’s hope we have lots of sunshine!
