What a fantastic World of Work Week it has been. Everyone has been busy experiencing real life working activities from cleaning and polishing the Pedro Boots for the physio team to working in the school office answering the phones and greeting visitors. We have had students working in Kirkham Library, some on the butchers counter in Morrisons and a couple of new check out assistants too. Students learnt about the world of hair and beauty with a visit from a local salon and experienced what it’s like to be a budding actor with a session working alongside a drama group from a local high school. We have had students experience life on the trains learning what it’s like working behind the scenes with Mersey Rail and Network Rail. We have ran our Bistro to work on our hospitality skills and experienced a board meeting as part of an enterprise session alongside AFC Fylde. We have been practicing our inner ‘Apprentice’ with a carousel of interview activities including grilling one another, informal interviews, application forms and recognising suitable work attire (no t-shirts, shorts or trainers here)! After a high pressured appraisal with Anne we were able to let our hair down at the end of week office party. Everyone feels the need for a well deserved rest this week after a very busy and productive World of Work Week.
