Pine Tree Class: A Big Explosion

This week, our topic has been Geography and we have been learning all about Volcanoes and Earthquakes. We have researched well-known volcanic eruptions and earthquakes that have occured in the past around the world. 

We began the topic with a really exciting actvity. Will used mentoes and a large bottle of coke to replicate a volcanic eruption and then we reenacted an earthquake in the classroom with a parachute and earthquake sounds. This really engaged everyone and made everyone really interested.

To continue this topic we are going to be making 'Earthquake Wave Boxes' to demonstrate how an area vibrates during the earthquake.
