Operation Encompass
As part of our commitment to safeguarding children and young people, we are proud to be part of Operation Encompass. This is a national initiative designed to safeguard and support children and young people who have been involved in, heard or witnessed a domestic abuse incident.
Operation Encompass directly connects the police with schools to secure better outcomes for children and young people. Following a police attended incident, information is shared directly and in confidence with our Key Adult Rebecca Warnock prior to the start of the next school day. This allows for the provision of immediate early intervention through silent or overt support, dependent upon the needs and wishes of the child or young person.
Children and young people experiencing domestic abuse are negatively impacted by this exposure; Operation Encompass aims to mitigate this harm by enabling immediate support to be provided so we can better safeguard against the short, medium and long term effects of domestic abuse.
