Hi everybody!

Welcome back to the Elm Tree Class blog.  We have had a really busy week this week.  Our favourite activity has been using clay to make sculptures in art.  This half term we have been learning about the artists Anish Kapoor and Antoni Gaudi by looking at their sculptures and talking about what we see.  We then designed our own sculptures by drawing what we wanted them to look like and deciding what materials we would use to decorate them as mosaics.  We can’t wait to decorate them next week!

AS well as this we have been reading a play script for The Gingerbread Man to get us ready to write our own playscript for our class story Say Hello by Rachel Isadora.

In numeracy, some pupils have been following instructions for prepositions to play toys in, on under, next, in front and behind boxes and cups.  Some pupils have been giving BeeBots instructions to go forwards, backwards, left and right.
