'Straight into it....

Once again, we have had a busy week in Sixth Form, full of different activities. Some have taken a walk round Beacon Fell, some have taken part in Commando Jo's, others have successfully run our Sixth Form business 'Sixth Form Spuds' which is proving to be really popular amongst the staff - we had a sell-out this week!
This week some of us have taken part in a really interesting lesson, STEM, the focus of this half term is Science. We have been looking at different chemical reactions. Last week we looked at how water changes when it reaches boiling point and we began to use different scientific vocabulary. Today, we have taken a focus on ice and how different materials impact how quickly it melts. The materials we used included flour, sugar, salt, marmalade and a hairdryer. The students engaged really well and enjoyed watching the different reactions.
