Welcome back everyone! We hope you have all had a great half term break :)

 

This week in Compass Centre we have started our exciting next topic- all around the world!

 

Each learner has enjoyed Attention Autism sessions looking at different people within our building before we move on to different languages, counties and cultures as our focus in upcoming weeks. In literacy we have started our new text about countries across the different continents, focussing on Peru this week- we have been engaging in communication sessions built around art projects relating to the animals and habitats of Peru.

 

We have been looking at money in our own country in maths using role play shop games to build on our functional money and number skills with some children practicing this in the community. Other students have enjoyed applying their numeracy skills to play number games with their friends with reduced adult support- wow!

 

Students have been accessing their local community looking at our local area and different habitats whilst engaging with our physical targets. Some students have enjoyed sessions in sixth form and in the hall for PE, accessing their wider school community engaging with friends from other classes.
