Compass Centre blog of the week: World Book Day and International Womens Day

Date: 8th Mar 2024 @ 2:43pm

Happy Friday everyone,

We hope you have had a fabulous week!

This week in the Compass Centre, we have celebrated two special days including: World Book Day and International Womens Day.

During World Book Day, lots of our learners dressed up as their favourite book characters. These characters included Where's Wolly, Horrid Henry, Miss Trunchbull, Miss Honey, and Matilda. Please see the pictures below, everyone looked amazing! In addition, everyone wore purple today, for International Womens Day/

Linking to World Book Day, in our literacy sessions, we have been reading and focusing our activities around the book 'All Around the World'. During our book journey, we discovered the different contintents of the world, as well as the different environments. This week, we learnt about the jungle - we decorated our own leaves with different coloured materials and enhanced our fine motor skills by weaving pipe cleaners in and out of the leaves to make a pattern. Everyoe had lots of fun :)

Thank you for reading our blog - we hope you have an amazing weekend!
