Hi everybody!
Welcome back to the Elm Tree Class blog. It's been a busy week with lots of hard work from everyone. Our history topic this half term is Medieval Life so we will be exploring and learning ehat life was like for rich and poor people. Last week we made our own coat of arms after looking on the internet for the actual ones, and this week we started to learn about castles and their different parts. We found that catapults and trebuchets were used to break the walls and of course we had to make our own and try and fire them!
In literacy, we have been learning all about alliteration. We have found that it is where words all start with the same initial sound and we played odd one out alliteration games to practise using words startin with the same sound. We then wrote our own alliteration poem for the numbers one to ten by choosing a sequence of words that started with the same letter as the number did.
In numeracy we have continued to learn about fractions. Some of the pupils are now learning how to find halves and quarters of numbers by sharing multi-link cubes into two or four groups.
That's all for now, have a great weekend and see you next time.
