Hi everybody,

What a busy final week we have had in Elm Tree Class this half term!  We finished out Picasso cubist self-portraits and we all think they look amazing.  The pupils were really engaged with mixing their colours using the primary colours then creating shades and tints by adding black or white paint.  They even used different thicknesses of line to pick out the pencil marks they had made.  The pupils that had painted shapes glued these into their sketch books to make their self-portrait too.  They looked at and named the different colours that were made when the primary colours were mixed.

In PSD we finished off our healthy lifestyle topic by trying some different food.  We decided that we would like to try some Indian food so onion bhajis and vegetable samosas were baked (healthy!) and pupils tasted raita, lime pickle and mango chutney (fruits and veg=healthy!) using popadoms and naan bread.  Chris was gutted because everything had been eaten and he was hoping to take some home for his tea!

That’s all for now, have a great half term and see you all soon!
