Our week in Elm Tree Class

Hi everybody!

The curriculum theme for this half term is 'All About Me', luckily our Makaton topic is 'All about Me' too!  This week we were describing our facial features using Makaton signs.  We talked about our hair and what colour it is and whether it is long, short, curly or straight.  We then drew our own self portraits using photographs as a visual prompt.

We always enjoy sharing weekend news with each other, and talking about what we did over the weekend.  We look at photographs parents and carers have sent in and talk about the exciting places we went on Saturday and Sunday.  Our favourite part is always talking about what we had to eat for tea as we can talk about the foods we really like!

The MSI group in Elm Tree Class have been very busy too.  They have been enjoying their Greatest Showman body awareness sessions as well as sensory circuits.  Exploring different tactile and sensory materials is always fun too.  The shaving foam felt fantastic, but we weren’t keen on feeling the sand!
