Hi everybody!
Welcome to the last Elm Tree Class blog of the Summer 1 half term, we can’t believe how quickly 6 weeks have flown by.
This week we have been finishing off work and completing projects for the half term. In science we have been learning about living things in their habitat and this half term we have focussed on learning about the different types of habitat on earth and the different animals that live in these habitats. Some pupils were sorting animals into the correct habitat and talking about the adaptations they have evolved to live there. Some pupils were naming body parts on different animals.
In PSD we have been learning about mental wellbeing and throughout the half term we have been doing lots of different activities to boost our mental wellbeing including yoga, meditation and playing games together like Jenga. This week we had to think about how we would feel in different scenarios like eating our favourite food for tea at the weekend, getting grounded and falling over and hurting ourselves.
It was the Maths is Fun day at Pear Tree School on Tuesday, we had a a great time taking part in all the numeracy based activities each class had planned linked to the olympic games. We had an air hockey game and target practice shooting game for all the pupils to play.
That’s all for now. Have a great half term holiday ad see you for the last half term of the year!
