Pine Tree Class: Learning about the Tudors
Date: 3rd Apr 2025 @ 4:02pm
We have been learning all about the Tudors in our History sessions this week.
Firstly, we have been reading a Powerpoint about what food that the Tudors used to eat. Can you believe the Tudors didn't eat pizza?! They used to enjoy eating bread and a lot of the Tudor diet was made up of meat such as deer, calves, pigs, badger or wild boar as these were easy to farm. After this, we took part in some role play as life as a sailor on board a ship. One student was chosen as the Captain and they gave the orders to the sailors. The sailors had to act out what they would do during a watch, they would pull ropes to raise and lower the sails, they waved parachutes to fix the sails and acted out how difficult it would be during a storm. We pretended to throw water on the deck and used brushes to clean it. We kept look out for enemies and had (pretend) sword fights with each other. The students loved getting involved!
This week, we have also done some music exploration in the hall. The students explored different stations with different types of musical instruments and enjoyed being independent. The switches station was a hit, with the students enjoying the different sounds playing.
We have had such a busy but exciting half term and we are really proud of all the students and how hard they are working towards hitting all of their targets. We hope you all have a restful half-term and happy Easter!
Love Pine Tree :)
