Seedlings: The Hungry Caterpillar

This week in seedlings we have been working on the topic understanding the world.

Our classroom provision has consisted of building blocks, sand and soil. The children have been encouraged to use their fine motor skills by cleaning toy animals with toothbrushes and exploring different sensory trays around 'The Hungry Caterpillar' theme.

The children have enjoyed the sensory story pack 'The Hungry Caterpillar', where we have tried different types of food from, fruit, chocolate and cheese. Some of the children have been exploring with identiplay kits in which an adult models the correct way to use the resources and hopes the children mirrors them. We have also been exploring with the interactive whiteboard, a definite favourite has been the spider web game on 'Helpkidzlearn'.

This week's Attention Autism has carried on from last week's where we popped coloured balloons and splatted shaving foam cupcakes. The children's turn taking skills just keep on improving.
