Sixth Form Blog - Happy Summer!

Wow, can you believe it is another school year nearly done.
We have had such a busy half-term doing lots of different vocations. Some of us have been continuing our work placements; in a supermarket, in a dessert place and at some local holiday lodges. We have been working really hard to develop our skills such as changing beds, refreshing condiments, stocking fridges and freezers, cleaning tables and making pancakes! It has been great to have these opportunities that will hopefully benefit us in the future.
We have been taking part in Physical Education sessions with Tom where we have been learning perfecting our skills in different sports such as cricket, football and rounders. We have been working as a team, refining our ball throwing skills and learning how to use a bat.
Some of us have been taking part in MSI sessions in the Sensory Room and exploring lots of different items under the UV light, this really grabs our attention and we enjoy taking part in the sensory experiences.
In Performing Arts, we have been going to Preston College every week to take part in a session where we have been learning a dance to Step In Time from Mary Poppins. It has really made some of us come out of our shells and we have really appreciated the opportunity to take part in this.
In Community Action, we have been all over the place! We have been continuing our walks, been to the Botanic Gardens, been to a fun day and next week we are going to Toby Carvery to celebrate all of our hard work.
Most important of all, we have been really enjoying our time together. We have had lots of good weather so have been spending some of our free time outside socialising with our friends, we wish the best of luck to those students that are going to be leaving us at the end of the school year - we will miss you!
