Oak Tree Welcome Back!!!

Date: 25th Feb 2024 @ 8:14pm

What an extremely busy first week back we have had in Oak Tree Class with lots of exciting activities taking place including a trip to Brockholes Nature Reserve.

This half term our creative curriculum topic is ‘All Around the World’. In Literacy we have been learning all about the story ‘Madeline and the Cats of Rome’ by John Bemelmans Marciano. This is a story all about a little girl called Madeline who lives in Paris but travels to see the sights and sounds of Rome. The pupils have really enjoyed listening to this story and have started developing their understanding of what is happening.

Some of the pupils in Oak Tree Class had the fantastic opportunity to go on a school trip to Brockholes Nature Reserve on Wednesday. Despite the awful weather, which only stopped as we got on the mini-bus back to school in the afternoon, the pupils had an amazing time learning all about different wildlife, making dens as well as making natural bird food and feeders. This was an excellent day and a big thank you to the team at The Wildlife Trust for Lancashire who looked after us and supplied us with a lovely hot meal to warm us up!

Finally, on Friday we all had a great time travelling around the world as part of our Inspiration day. We travelled from Europe to North America to Asia and then finally to Australia experiencing the culture, which all the pupils loved.

We are looking forward to another busy week and welcoming you into our classroom on Monday morning.

Have a good weekend!
