Ancient Greece
Another busy week in Pine tree class. We have been learning all about Ancient Greece in our History lessons. The students have made their own olive wreaths using paper and card. In Ancient Rome these were made from branches and leaves of the Laurel – a type of evergreen shrub or small tree, and were worn on their heads as a symbol of triumph. We have made some Greek pottery using salt dough and bright coloured paints to decorate and then painted our own Greek flags. To finish the week the students have enjoyed trying some Greek foods, Pitta breads, Feta cheese, Olives, Humus and Tzatziki.
