This week we have started our new science topic- changing states- with a chilly challenge!

 

Lots of our toys had been trapped when water had frozen in the freezer.

 

Elm Tree class was challenged to think of what had happened to the water to turn into ice, describe how it felt and think what we needed to do to melt the ice and free our toys. 

 

We are looking at changing from solids to liquids through freezing and melting first and had a go at sorting melted liquids vs frozen solids. Some of us had a look at how fruit can become frozen too and what it feels and smells like.
