Algorithms in Oak Tree

Date: 15th Dec 2023 @ 3:19pm

In computing this half term, we have been learning all about following and debugging algorithms. Firstly, the pupils started off by giving each other simple instructions to be able to follow such as walk 5 steps forward and turn left. We then started completing sequences and ensuring that they were in the correct order by debugging any wrong steps such as how to wash your hands or how to make a sandwich. Finally, we attempted to get the BeeBots to travel across the table. This was lots of fun and we all successfully managed to stop the BeeBot falling off the table.

Another group of pupils have been developing their mark making and switch skills in the lesson working towards being able to turn on and off difference devices including a hoover, monkey, bubble machine and jumping dog.

We have had lots of fun and learnt lots of new skills.

Have a good weekend,
