Busy week in Class
Date: 13th Jan 2023 @ 3:21pm
It’s been a busy week in Oak Tree Class and everyone has been working really hard.
We have started learning about the artist Jackson Pollock in creative art and we found that he was one of the first artists to paint using the drip and splatter technique. We didn’t do that in class, but Chris has plans to be making lots mess at some point this term! We also got to listen to the album My Favourite Things by John Coltrane, so it was a proper jazz club in class!
We have been practising our describing signs for opposites in our Makaton lesson. We looked at pictures of big and small, hot and cold, rough and smooth and used our signs to describe what we could see.
We are learning about mental wellbeing in PSD and some pupils had a chat about things that make them feel happy and calm. There were some lovely suggestions and pupils in class like going to the beach, the park and even to watch Blackpool play football.
We are learning about forces in science and pupils were exploring how pushes and pulls felt using different PE equipment. Being squashed by the exercise balls and feeling the dyna-bands stretching were the favourite push and pull.
We hope you all have a fantastic weekend and we will see you next week.
