Celebrating the Kings Coronation and a special Birthday
Date: 5th May 2023 @ 4:51pm
Happy Friday everyone!
We hope you had a lovely bank holiday weekend and a great week!
This week in the Compass Centre, alongside our regular routine sessions, we have been celebrating and learning about the Kings Coronation. Lots of different activities were arranged throughout the week including colouring in and decorating crowns, researching different crown designs for inspiration, baking cakes, having a tea party themed lunch and taking part in serving cups of tea and coffee to parents and staff in the Sixth Form. In addition to the excitement, one of our students organised a street party for his peers and staff to attend - to inform his friends of the event, he created posters stating where, when, what to expect and the time. Great fun was had by all, some people took part in a talent show, others enjoyed socialising with their peers with home baked cake and juice.
We also celebrated one of our learners’ Birthday! Some of our students sat around a table together and sung Happy Birthday as the cake came out. Everyone then had a slice and thanked them for joining. It was lovely to see all the smiling faces and for some of our learners to attend, even though they sometimes find it difficult with being around large amounts of people at one time.
Well done Compass Centre! ?
