Compass Centre blog of the week: a focus on communication

Hello everyone,

We hope you are all having a fantastic week!

This week in the Compass Centre, we have been further focusing on our new term topic, diversity. In Attention Autism, our learners experienced different colours. First, each learner chose a colour, then Ceri created crazy hair by blowing water colours in different patterns. After this, our learners then had a go themselves, by communicating the colours they preferred and getting colour messy and talking about how we all have different hait types.

Linking to our diversity focus, in active literacy, our learners were introduced to our new term focused book 'What I Like About Me'. This week we had a look at different interests, including spaceships and dinosaurs. Lots of fun and discussions were had! During each session, a large focus has been on communication, with an aim for key words such as 'more', 'finished', 'go', to be recognised more frequently.
