Compass Centre blog of the week - people who help us
Date: 26th Apr 2024 @ 9:15am
This week in the Compass Centre we have been continuing our learning about people who help us.
During Attention Autism we learnt about different people that make up a family, including: sisters, brothers, grandmas, grandads, farther, mother. During stage three Attention Autism we all participated in a game of skittles with members of a family attached. Once the ball had been thrown and a skittle was knocked over, we discussed the family member. Following on from this, some of our learners then took part in a stage four task of discussing who was in our own family, and gluing and sticking different people in our family in a template home. Great job everyone!
In addition to learning about people who help us, we had an exciting visit from the fire service team, who came over to school to talk to us about fire safety. Some of our learners attended a fire presentation where they discussed what to do in the event of a fire, how to keep safe and learning about fire equipment. After this, we then got to sit in the fire engine, wear the different equipment and use the hose to put out a pretend fire. Well done everyone!
We hope you all have a fantastic weekend,
The Compass Centre team 😊
