Hi Everybody,

Welcome back to the Elm Tree Class blog, it’s been a fun packed week at Pear Tree School as it has been Inspiration Week for our topic ‘Festivals’.  In class, we have been exploring going to lots of different festivals and we have also combined it with healthy eating week.  On Monday we were naming different fruits and vegetables on a video on YouTube.  We then watched videos from last year’s Glastonbury music festival and played instruments alongside the songs.

On Tuesday we talked about why it is important to eat lots of different fruits and vegetables, and we had our own street art festival based on the Nuart festival held in Aberdeen in each year.  We used stencils and drew free hand street art.

On Wednesday we baked oatmeal raisin cookies to enter in the Pear Tree Bake Off competition, but unfortunately we had a culinary disaster, all of the cookies crumbled and fell part as soon as we tried to get them off the baking sheet.  Luckily we had enough time on Thursday morning to bake another batch that turned out perfectly!  We didn’t win a prize for best looking or tasting bake, but we got to taste all the other classes’ cakes and biscuits and they were delicious.
