Hi everyone, welcome back to the Elm Tree Blog.

This week we will be focusing on science, computing and RE.

We are learning about the solar system in science and this week we carried out an investigation using our observation skills to see if different materials would blockthe light from a torch and make a shadow.  We were really good at seeing that a book, paper and our hands made shadows.  It was a bit trickier seeing if a clear plastic bottle and cellophane made shadows, but we agreed that we could still see the light shining on the table so they didn't make shadows.

In computing we were searching the internet for photographs of our favourite things for a class display.  We were practising our typing skills and mouse skills when doing this, and the display is hopefully going to look fantastic.

In RE we started learning about the 5Ks of Sikhism.  We looked at and talked about the comb, steel bracelet, cotton underwear, ceremonial sword and we learned that Sikhs don't cut their hair.  Next week we will be learning the names for each object.
