Hi everybody!
Elm Tree Class have had a fantastic week with lots of hard work from everyone. We are learning about pop-up pages in DT this half term, so we were reading and exploring pop-up mechanisms in a variety of books before we made a pop-up card. We were practising our choice making, cutting and colouring skills during the design phase!
We have been writing our own list poem about ourselves too this week. We started by looking a photograph of ourselves and writing a word bank of describing words and things we liked and disliked. The final part was to choose what we were going to put into our list poems and writing the line for them.
Thursday was World Refugee Day and we were learning what a refugee was. We found that it is a person that has been forced to leave their country based on their race, religion, or political opinions. We learned about some famous refugees including Rita Ora, Dua Lipa and Freddie Mercury. We listened to their music and had a dance. Dua Lipa’s song from The Barbie Movie was definitely the favourite.
Have a great weekend,
Elm Tree Class
