Pine Tree Class: Following algorithms

This week, our topic has been Computing and our lesson focus has been 'Algorithms'. The definition of an algorithm is a 'process or set of rules to be followed'. Some of our students have done brilliantly at explaining an algorithm. To demonstrate this, we have been using Beebots. A Beebot follows instructions given by the user. We have been using directions, forward, backward, left and right, to tell our Beebot where to go. Sometimes we made them fall off the table, oops! 

Some of our other students have been using switches, to play switch games on HelpKidzLearn. This is a really motivating activity for some of our students and they were really engaged and are smashing their targets! A class favourite is definitely '5 Little Speckled Frogs'.
