Oak Tree Class: Fractions and Creative Art

What a lovely week we have had in Oak Tree class, with lots of fun and exciting learning taking place.
This week in Numeracy we have been focusing on developing our understanding of fractions, in particularly halves and quarters. We have been sharing and grouping different items or objects into 2 or 4 groups. The class have really worked hard this week and made some excellent progress and as a result, we even got to eat cake, as long as we were able to cut it into halve and then quarters first.
In our Creative Art topic, we have started learning all about Sir Steve McQueen, the British film director. The formal group of pupils started to create a fact-file all about him and the semi and pre-formal pupils experienced taking photographs on the iPad and then using the PicCollage app to add different backgrounds and stickers.
Just a note to say, it is our class assembly next Friday 24th January 2025. We hope that you can all make it; we are very excited to share what we have been learning.
