Pine Tree Class: Heads in the Clouds
Date: 6th Feb 2025 @ 3:41pm
Hey everyone,
We've had a really exciting topic this week. We have been learning about water cycles in Geography. At the beginning of the week, we learnt all about the different animals that live in or near rivers in the UK, we also discussed their diets. We then sorted these into groups, for example did they live in the water, in the trees, on the river bank etc. We used colourful semantics to build sentences all about this.
To finish our topic off we have been testing some experiments. We have been creating clouds using a blown out match sealed tightly in a 2l bottle. We then squeezed it and when we let go a cloud appeared - it was very interesting. We also used shaving foam (to represent the cloud) resting on hot water (representing the atmosphere) and used a dropper with blue dye in and squeezed it and it fell through the cloud into the atmosphere as if it was raining.
The students have worked really hard on this topic - well done everyone!
