Maple Tree: Hinduism

This week in Maple Tree we have been learning all about Hinduism and Diwali and not forgetting BONFIRE NIGHT!

We've had a cracking (firework joke for you) week. We've loved creating our own firework pictures with lots and lots of glitter! 

We've learnt about Hinduism and the different celebrations. We've learnt about Puja which is worship at home or at a temple. Puja involves using all five senses, and the five elements - light, fire, earth, air and water.

We have enjoyed learning about how Hindus use washing, bellringing, offerings and anointing. They may also wear a coloured mark called tilaka and repeat mantras and meditate.

We've learnt about the Diwali celebration. This is the festival of light. We've used our own colourful lights to celebrate and enjoy the occasion.
