Horticulture

This half-term in Horticulture, we have been busy with lots of different activities. Our focus has been Floristry. We began the half term by making floral pictures by printing flowers on to clay. We then looked at different types of flowers and went on a community walk in Kirkham to try and find them. We had some success in some but not so much in others!
We bought some seeds and potted them in our planters outside of Sixth Form so we are waiting to see if we have had any success with these. We used different gardening tools and techniques to give us the best shot.
To round up our half term, we took an exciting trip and visited a florist. We did lots of different tasks and we created a small arrangement in a jar that included tulips. We all really enjoyed this and couldn't wait to show our friends back at Sixth Form. Next half term, we hope to take some more trips out into the community and beyond to further cement our knowledge on the subject.
