Achieving The Best We Can
In Everything We Do

Oak Tree class 26/4/21

Date: 9th Aug 2022 @ 2:21pm

Hello everyone, we have been super busy again this week.

This week in our vocational education lesson we were practicing how to use different tools, and learning how to be safe with them all. This is in preparation for next week when we are making our own bug hotels.

We had our session with Romano from Commando Joes which we all enjoyed so much. This week our mission was to carefully pull along a jerry can with a tower on top and try to keep it standing! We then did an assault course and practiced our target practice.

In one of our literacy lessons we went on a very exciting ‘virtual’ trip to the pantomime! We had a beautiful Snow White, a handsome prince, a wicked witch and 4 dwarves. We also read the script to Peter Pan and loved rehearsing our lines. We definitely have some pirates in training.

This week in science we were learning about chemical reactions using all ingredients we could find in our kitchen. It was exciting to see which ingredients would make a chemical reaction and bubble out of the test tube. We then tried an experiment as a class and wanted to know if we could blow up a balloon, we were all scared it might pop!

In computing we are learning about  programming, instructions and algorithms. We did some Lego therapy where we had to instruct our friends how we wanted the tower to be built. We had to be really detailed to make sure we built the best tower. During computing one pupil practised using the Eye Gaze, where she had to focus on the screen to see what would happen.

Some lucky pupils also started Ukulele lessons, where we learnt different cords and a few of us started learning a song.

This weeks winner for the PE trophy was amazing at listening to instructions and taking part.

Hope you all have a lovely bank holiday weekend, lets hope the weather improves! Stay safe
