Our Pine Tree Class, Chocolate masterclass!
Date: 2nd Feb 2024 @ 1:28pm
This week in Pine Tree class, we have been continuing to incorporate this half-terms creative curriculum theme – Diversity, looking at lots of different materials in science and continuing to work on our Literacy story. In Literacy we have been working on ordering the story of ‘Pink is for Boys’ by Robb Pearlman ourselves, making sure that we get the colours in the correct order.
In our Science lessons, we have learnt about different materials for our Science topic ‘changing materials’. Everyone has enjoyed taking part in a range of activities to help explore this theme by making air dry clay models, melting ice, and freezing water, and looking at materials with different textures from sand to slime. The winning activity this week was making our own chocolate sweets, where we had to figure out how to get from a solid chocolate bar to individual shaped sweets, by melting and cooling the chocolate, we all especially enjoyed eating the finished product.
During our Numeracy lessons, we have started to develop our knowledge and understanding linked to the topic ‘Length, Weight and Height’. We have been measuring ourselves and our teachers to see who is the tallest in class and started to ask and answer some questions about us all.
Have a lovely weekend.
Love everyone in Pine Tree class :-)
