Compass - Positive communication development and great interaction in routine sessions
Date: 27th Apr 2023 @ 7:30pm
Happy Friday everyone, we hope you have had a lovely week!
This week in the Compass Centre we have enjoyed enhancing our speech and language skills through one to one guidance and grouped sessions. For instance, some of our sensory learners have been furthering their communication by understanding key phrases and words such as ‘I want’ and ‘more’, as well as describing words relating to colour. In addition, within regular Attention Autism sessions, our pupils are becoming increasingly aware of words such as ‘ready’, ‘go’, ‘more’, and ‘finished’. Our pupils have made great progress and communication sessions will become a consistent part of their day, to aid them to voice their wants and needs.
Throughout the week, within their regular routine sessions, our learners have also made amazing progress in displaying positive interactions with their peers. In particular, during aerobics, sensory story, Attention Autism, active mathematics and phonics, our learners have worked well together and with familiar staff to participate within activities. These interactions can be shown through sharing, taking turns and helping each other. Please see below the amazing pictures captured throughout the week.
Well done everyone! We hope you all have a great weekend ?
