Seedlings: The Gingerbread Man

This week in Seedlings we have been exploring our topic of Traditional Tales.

Our Attention Autism this week has been linked to the story of The Three Little Pigs. For stage 2 have all watched Alice blow up three pink balloons with pigs faces on and then we watched as she released around the room. For stage 3 we have then taken turns to help the third little pig build a house made of bricks. We all enjoyed it as we shouted ‘i’ll huff and i’ll puff and i’ll blow down your house’ and we knocked the bricks down.

In our Literacy lessons this week we have continued exploring The Gingerbread Man story through sensory props. These have included dropping pigs in coco powder, smelling gingerbread scented dough and getting squirted with water as the gingerbread man tries to cross the river. We have been working on our ability to sit one to one with an adult, showing preferences for different resources and joining in with phrases and actions of the story.

We are really enjoying the lovely weather this week and have been exploring outdoor resources such as water play, bubbles and the trampolines.
