Seedlings: Transport week
Date: 15th Jun 2023 @ 7:34pm
This half terms theme is transport. Our song of the term is ‘wheels on the bus’ which links to our literacy target which is to 'begin to join in with the actions and sounds in familiar songs’.
This weeks continuous provision has consisted of exploring with vehicles and paint, water boat trays and foam trays.
The activities of the week have been linked to our literacy target were the children have been responding to sounds in the environment such as cars/sirens and birds. The children have been enjoying our sensory story ‘Marmalade Jam’ they particularly enjoyed tasting the marmalade and green jelly.
The paddling pool has been a hit this week, the children have enjoyed splashing about with each other and keeping cool in this warm weather.
This weeks Attention Autism has also been linked to transport. In stage 2 Alice poured flour over different coloured paper and revealed three different vehicle shapes and in stage 3 the children took turns doing the actions to the song ‘row, row, row your boat’ with Alice in a blow up boat, it was lovely to see their enjoyment.
What a lovely first week back Seedlings.
