Sixth Form Blog - Horticulture

This half term in Horticulture our main focus has been on learning about different seeds and equipment we use when gardening. To begin this half term and open up some conversations we all took a trip to Dobbies garden centre. We had a look at all the different equipment and saw some items that we hadn't heard of yet - including a brush to clean the moss out of your gutter! We then took a walk outside to look at the plants and there was so much choice. 

We have also started a course at Myerscough College where we are looking at different seeds. During one of our sessions, we planted garden peas, following instructions from our course lead. We have then brought these back to school and planted them in our Sixth Form garden. We are enjoying watching them grow. We have also planted lots of colourful flowers and trying to remember to water them regularly. 

Next half term we are continuing our hard work within school and at college and can't wait to learn lots more exciting information!
